CS 371p Spring 2021: Aly Hirani #4
What did you do this past week?
This past week, I watched lectures, studied for quizzes, did the blog, read and annotated the paper, and finished Collatz.
What’s in your way?
At the moment, there is nothing really in my way. I am mostly caught up in my other classes, and my extra curricular activities are under control. If our second project for OOP was already posted, I’m sure I would be working on it now.
What will you do next week?
Next week, I will watch lectures, study for quizzes, do the blog, read and annotate the paper and hopefully start working on the second project if it has been posted by then.
If you read it, what did you think of the Pair Programming?
I did indeed read the Pair Programming paper this week, for the second time, because I read it last semester for SWE. The concepts covered in the paper resonated with me because I have learned how to pair program through my other classes and experience doing it.
What was your experience of operators, pointers, and references? (this question will vary, week to week)
This class is my first time working with C++. I learned C for Computer Architecture and Operating Systems so I was familiar with pointers, as well as call by address and call by value. However, call by reference was new to me, and so was operator overloading.
What made you happy this week?
Last night, my favorite basketball player (Luka Dončić) scored his career high points in a game against the Pelicans (46) and had 12 assists. The Mavericks (my favorite team) won their fourth game in a row. This made me very happy after struggles earlier in the season.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My pick of the week is Notability. It is a great app to take notes for classes in college.
